lorrie@recoverinitiative.caLorrie is president and Director of Sustainability of Habit Studio, and Design Director for the ReCover Initiative. With twenty years of retrofit design expertise, her goal is to reduce the financial and technical limitations of completing custom renovation projects, one building at a time, in the face of a looming climate crisis. As a Certified Passive House Designer and a recognized building science expert, Lorrie has the experience and expertise needed to develop a repeatable and systematic approach to deep retrofits specifically adapted to the Nova Scotia context.

emma@recoverinitiative.caEmma has been working in Canada’s energy sector for nearly a decade. She has a certificate in Building Science and Net-zero Building Design from Yestermorrow Design/Building School in Vermont. She achieved the University Medal in Environment, Sustainability and Society (ESS), and combined honours in ESS and International Development Studies from the University of King’s College/Dalhousie University. She holds her levels 1 and 2 in Co-Resolve, Deep Democracy Facilitation. Before consulting, Emma worked at QUEST, a community energy planning non-profit, and before that she worked on the Energy Team at the Ecology Action Centre, Nova Scotia's environmental watchdog.

amanda@recoverinitiative.caAmanda is a professional engineer and is equipped with over a decade of ‘in the trenches’ experience in the construction industry with a specialization in design-build project delivery.
Driven with a desire to help teams work collaboratively and guide design and construction projects from conception to reality, Amanda has spent over fifteen years helping cross-functional teams come together and enabling them to act built on trust, cooperation, and innovation. Combined with her deep technical knowledge of building construction, Amanda's projects benefit from the value she places on teamwork, considering the value provided by the entire project team from the building owner to the carpenter on the construction site
